Prior to beginning his legal education, Patrick served four years in the United States Marine Corps. During law school he served with the United States Army Reserve in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is a graduate of Hamline University, where he completed his B.A. in Legal Studies and obtained his Juris Doctor from Hamline University School of Law, receiving the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in the study of Conflicts of Law. In addition, Patrick obtained his LL.M. in International Commercial Law from the University of Nottingham, England.
Patrick Toomey practices exclusively in the area of Social Security disability law and has represented thousands of clients at all levels from initial filing through civil actions before the U.S. District Court. Patrick has practiced Social Security disability law since graduating from law school in 2002.
Patrick is licensed in the State of New York and is a member of the New York State Bar Association, American Bar Association and National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives.
Patrick lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with his wife Sonia and their three children. He enjoys fly-fishing, mountain biking, and camping in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area of Northern Minnesota.
