It seems that someone is arrested at a local Social Security office on a weekly basis these days. As disability backlogs increase so does the frustration from customers. A recent arrest at a Social Security office happened locally at the Rochester, MN Social Security office. According to a story in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Leonard Booth, age 26, was arrested at the Rochester Social Security office after threatening Social Security employees. Capt. John Sherwin from the Rochester Police Department said Booth was arrested after “acting erratically” and threatening employees with bodily harm because he was unable to receive Social Security benefits. Booth was charged with making terroristic threats and possession of a controlled substance. Sherwin said Booth was in possession of a small amount of cocaine.
